Mayfest, Blue Dome Festival Open To Better Weather Saturday

After two days of closing early for severe thunderstorms, Mayfest and the Blue Dome Festival will see some sunshine Saturday.

Artists and food vendors are setting up, and the festivals start at 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday, the festivals closed early due to intense storms and heavy rains.

Mayfest has indoor and outdoor exhibits, a kid's zone and musical performers at several stages.  It's located downtown on Main Street from 3rd to 6th. Artists from all over the country are ready to show off their latest creations.

There's also a marathon going on downtown and Hop Jam, the Hanson Brother's beer and music festival.

Blue Dome Arts Festival has nearly 300 local artists and performers with a family zone and a pet zone.  They're open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the Blue Dome District, 202 South Elgin.

If you're planning to do anything downtown, be prepared for street closures in both those areas and more. There's also a half marathon going on downtown Saturday morning. Hop Jam, the Hanson Brother's beer and music festival, is Sunday in the Brady Arts District. It runs from
