Clear Skies, Cooler Temps Prevail In Green Country

Posted: Updated:
TULSA, Oklahoma -

Saturday’s muggy and stormy weather put a damper on quite a few outdoor plans, but today is a different story as much nicer weather returns for the rest of our Memorial Day weekend!

The storm system responsible for yesterday’s severe storms continues to surge to our east and southeast this morning, along with a cold front that is ushering in some drier air. Clouds will thin out during the morning hours, leaving much of eastern Oklahoma with mostly sunny skies by later this afternoon.

We’ll have some pleasantly warm conditions to enjoy for our Sunday with highs in the low 80s across Green Country and a steady north breeze. On top of that, our humidity values will be lower and much more reasonable, so it’ll feel far less muggy than it did on Saturday! Cheers to that!

Light winds, clear skies, and cool temps later tonight should leave us with terrific conditions for Sunday night outdoor plans! Temperatures will be pleasantly cool by early Memorial Day morning with most locations dipping into the mid to upper 50s.

Winds should remain light throughout our Memorial Day Monday if you’re headed to any ceremonies honoring our heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Another day of sunshine will push our highs back into the mid 80s for Memorial Day!

Enjoy these next few dry days, because several more rain chances are on the way! An unsettled upper level pattern will begin to settle back in by the middle of the week, with numerous upper level disturbances providing lift for showers and thunderstorms.

It won’t be washouts every day, but scattered showers and storms look possible pretty much any day from Wednesday into next weekend. The good news: Our severe weather chances appear much lower with our next few rounds of storms next week. Some locally heavy rain could aggravate flooding issues by the end of next week or next weekend, so we’ll be watching closely!
