We'll see summer time weather today for Green Country. Temperatures will soar into the upper 80s and low 90s this afternoon. Sunshine will be in full force, and the UV Index will be very high. Sunscreen will be a must for outdoor activities.
Area pools and splash pads will probably be very busy today!
There is a small chance for isolated showers and storms today in north central Oklahoma, west of I-35. We’re not expecting any of that activity to move into eastern Oklahoma.
Dew points will lessen for Wednesday and Thursday which will take away that humid feeling for a short period of time. Looking at new data for Wednesday, there is a small chance for showers northwest of Tulsa. A complex of showers and storms moving south out of Kansas could continue into northeastern Oklahoma during the day on Wednesday.
This complex is expected to weaken and fall apart but if it doesn’t, you might find a few showers northwest of Tulsa. Highs will be cooler than today in the low 80s with partly cloudy skies.
Humidity on Thursday should be manageable, but the warming trend begins Thursday afternoon. Winds will be out of the southeast, which will also start to increase dew points Thursday night into Friday. There will be a complex of showers and thunderstorms in western Oklahoma that will move east overnight Thursday into Friday.
Anything left over will impact us in the morning and then skies will clear out in the afternoon. We’ll be hot and humid for Tulsa Tough this weekend.
