Oklahoma Highway Patrol said a Marietta man on a motorcycle died after being run over by a semi Sunday afternoon near Ardmore.

Troopers said John D. Dvorak was driving a 2017 Kawasaki Nina 1000 at a high rate of speed on southbound Interstate 35 when he lost control and slid into the inside lane. A semi driver swerved to miss him but was unsuccessful, a collision report states.

OHP said Dvorak, 56, was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver, 55-year-old Thomas D. Kasper of Marion, Kansas, wasn't hurt.

The cause of the collision is listed as unsafe speed. OHP is still investigating Dvorak's condition before the wreck.
Lighthorse Police, Marietta Police Department, Love County EMS and the Greenville Fire Department assisted OHP.
