Tulsa firefighters, EMSA and Tulsa Police officers responded to a collision around 10 p.m. Sunday, July 9 at 61st and Utica involving a homemade motorcycle and an SUV.

Officers said a 22-year-old motorcyclist was critically injured when an SUV turned left in front of him.

Investigators told News On 6 it was dark in the area, and the "homemade" motorcycle had lights but they weren't hooked up.

A child in the back of the SUV suffered minor cuts. The motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital with a serious head injury. Police said he has undergone surgery and still in critical condition Monday morning.
