Eastern Oklahoma Getting An Early Taste Of Fall

Posted: Updated:
TULSA, Oklahoma -

We’re in store for some great weather for the next few days with cool mornings and mild afternoon.   Dry air is firmly in place across northeastern Oklahoma this morning with some locations reporting mid-40s.  The metro will be dropping to near 50 to 53 in spots this morning with highs moving into the upper 70s and lower 80s this afternoon.   North winds will remain around 5 to 15 mph along with sunshine and pleasant weather.   These conditions are likely again tomorrow but with southeast winds returning by midday to afternoon.    Temps will slowly increase this weekend with morning lows in the lower to mid-60s along with daytime highs around 85.

The upper air flow will remain from the northwest for the next few days with another fast-moving disturbance dropping out of the Rockies into northwestern Oklahoma late Thursday night into Friday morning.   This may bring a low chance for a shower or sprinkle to our west but the odds of any surviving precip into our area should remain low.   I’ll not include any pops in the forecast for this time.  Temps this weekend will be in the mid-60s for lows and highs in the mid-80s.   Another front should arrive around Monday of next week with another intrusion of pleasant and dry conditions.   We see no major storm systems for our immediate area for at least the next 7 days.

Irma continues to be a dangerous hurricane moving generally westward this morning.    I’ll continue to post information regarding Irma on my Facebook page and Twitter timeline throughout the morning.
