While Florida deals with the powerful Hurricane Irma, our weather here in Green Country remains calm with more beautiful weather on the way for our Sunday!

If you were a fan of the sunny and warm conditions we enjoyed Saturday, then you’re in luck: We’re in for near carbon-copy conditions today. Plenty more sunshine can be expected with a few passing afternoon clouds.

We'll again see those highs climb back into the mid 80s for our Sunday with east to southeast winds remaining light. It'll be more perfect weather for outdoor activities!

Of course, while we remain quiet all eyes are on Hurricane Irma as the major hurricane will continue to batter the state of Florida throughout Sunday and into Monday. Sustained winds of 135 miles per hour will continue along the western coast of Florida today. In addition to wind damage, flooding, and tornadoes, life-threatening storm surge over 10 feet is expected along the western coastal areas of Florida.

Back here in Green Country, the pleasant and tranquil weather will continue into the work week. Cool mornings in the 50s and comfortable afternoons in the 80s are expected through early to mid-week! As the remnants of Irma shift up into the United States we will likely see some high clouds spread our way by Tuesday, but that will be about the extent of Irma’s impacts on Oklahoma.

We’ve been spoiled with a long stretch of fall-like weather recently, but for you fall weather fans I suggest you enjoy it! There is another surge of summer heat lurking as highs will be climbing back into the lower 90s by Thursday and Friday with potentially hotter conditions by next weekend. Summer isn’t done with us quite yet!
