Former Okmulgee County Chief Deputy Pleads Guilty To Assault And Battery

<p>Robert Heath pled guilty Tuesday to a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.&nbsp;</p>

The Okmulgee County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy pled guilty September 12 to an assault and battery charge stemming from a May incident that happened in Tulsa County, court records show. 

Robert Heath was initially charged May 4 with aggravated assault and battery and conjoint robbery, but when he appeared in court Tuesday, the robbery count was dismissed and he pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.

Heath received a three-year deferred sentence, court documents show. 

The Okmulgee County Sheriff's Office said Heath is no longer the chief deputy, but it's not clear whether he's still employed there. 

Heath was placed on administrative leave following his arrest in May.
