Authorities just arrested two Oklahomans in connection to the death of a man September 16 in North Carolina. Members of the Northern Oklahoma Violent Crimes Task Force arrested Amber Sanders and William Forney at a Tulsa hotel, according to  Jeff Johnson of the U.S. Marshals Office.

Johnson said the two are suspects in the murder of Ricky Long, a Columbus County resident who was shot several times in the head. Columbus County law enforcement said the pair stole Long's car then fled to Oklahoma.

Sanders, who is also known as Amber Hitchcock, is from Broken Arrow and Forney from Coweta, according to the U.S. Marshals.

Wagoner County Sheriff's Office deputies pulled the car from Verdigris River, and police caught up with Sanders and Forney at a Tulsa motel Wednesday morning, Johnson said.
