Funerals Remember Lives Of NSU Students

Posted: Updated:
SALINA, Oklahoma -

A heartbreaking day for hundreds in Green Country as two more Northeastern State University students killed when their pick-up plunged off a bridge, were laid to rest.

Friends and family honored the life of Autumn Seely.

Autumn Seely just graduated from Salina High School this year.

Friday, hundreds showed up here at the school's gymnasium for her funeral.

Music filled the room in memory of Autumn Seely.

"She would have enjoyed every bit of that," said family friend Sam Trevino.

But to say she loved music, family and friends say, isn't enough.

"I don't think love of music sums it up. I think it should say Autumn lived music. Amen? AMEN. She lived it,” a speaker said at the funeral.

The young woman was a drummer in the high school band, playing all four years, taking time to enjoy music outside of school, too.

Sam Trevino said, "Everything about her was just music. She loved Rocklahoma. She was awesome."

Just starting her time at Northeastern State University, Autumn planned to earn a degree in social services, with hopes to become an advocate for children.

"She had children on her heart. She liked to look out for them." Trevino said.

She also spent time around motorcycles, going on toy runs with bikers her whole life.

Being a part of that tight-knit community is how family friend Sam Trevino got to know her.

"She was something else. She was so independent. She had a mind of her own … had the biggest heart." He said.

She went on her first toy run when she was just ten days old, on a bike with her dad.

"Those two are two peas in a pod. I've never seen a dad and daughter so close. They meant everything to each other." Trevino said.
Autumn was 18-year-old.

She was laid to rest Friday in Pryor.

Funeral services were also held Friday for Drake Wells in Marietta.

The memorial for 18-year-old Donavon Caldwell will be Saturday at 2 pm in Muskogee.

Lily Murphy and Jessica Swartwout were honored yesterday.
