ROGERS COUNTY, Oklahoma - Investigators say three people put a 10-year-old boy through months of physical and mental abuse.

They say the boy was tortured and suffered great pain, all for the purpose of punishing him.

A affidavit says the boy was put through military-style physical training, forced to do extreme exercises, yelled at while he was doing them, hit with a spoon during them and when he didn't do them right, even threatened with a taser.

Investigators arrested Jacquelyln Archie, the boy's mother, her boyfriend, Joe Clark, and Clark's son-in-law, Matt Alexander. They say Alexander is in the National Guard and was detained by miltiary police at Camb Gruber before being taken to jail.

They say the boy's grandmother saw bruises and marks on him and reported it.

The affidavit says in one instance, the boy got angry at what the men were doing to him so he yelled at his mother, but she slapped him on the face, leaving a bruise. Then he had to do more pushups and was forced to run with the men and when he couldn't keep up he had to do burpees.

It says another time Alexander woke the kids up in the middle of the night and made them do excercises as punishment and when the boy couldn't do them properly, Alexander made fun of him.

"The mental and emotional anguish that can be put on these children is extremely difficult and can be as significant as an injury," said Rogers County Lt. Gavin Gatrell.

The affidavit says another time, the boy was hit repeatedly with a switch during pushups, then forced to sit under a tree in the middle of the night in the woods for an hour before doing more exercises.

It says the boy was in so much pain, he couldn't sit back in a chair and the next day he was made to run sprints.

"It doesn't matter how many times you see it, it's always shocking to see people treat children like this," Gatrell said.

All three are charged with child abuse by injury and the boy's mom is also charged with child endangerment.
