Winchester Man Arrested In Shooting Death Of His Cousin
OKMULGEE COUNTY, Oklahoma - A man is in jail after Okmulgee County deputies said he murdered his cousin. Ryan Johnson, 24, was arrested and is currently in the Okmulgee County Jail on a murder complaint.
Investigators said the shooting happened about 15 miles north of Okmulgee in Winchester. They arrested Johnson after they responded Wednesday, September 27 to a home in the 3400 block of South Cincinnati Avenue and discovered a dead woman.
A woman who lives in the neighborhood said it is so quiet and small she can tell who is driving down the road by the sound of the car. But just after midnight, she said she heard five gun shots coming from the house on Cincinnati Avenue.
The Okmulgee County Sheriff’s Office said an altercation of some kind led to Johnson shooting 21-year-old Destiny Arnold of Beggs.
They didn't elaborate on what the altercation was about.
The neighbor, who did not want to talk on camera, said Johnson isn't a bad guy, adding that his father just died a couple of weeks ago.
