Nolen Sentencing Experiences 'Snag'

The sentencing phase of Alton Nolen's murder trial ended early Thursday because of what the judge called a "snag" in the case.

The Cleveland County DA said it has to do with one of their expert witnesses.

Dr. Jarrod Steffan testified Thursday that Nolen "does not reach the diagnostic criteria for mental retardation." 

The jury could deliberate Friday. If they find Nolen is intellectually disabled, he'll get life without parole for beheading his co-worker. Otherwise, they could sentence him to death.
