Six Green Country School Districts Hold Elections Tuesday

Posted: Updated:
TULSA COUNTY, Oklahoma -

Green Country voters head to the polls Tuesday to decide several school bond elections, included a large one for Owasso Public Schools.

The bond issue is the largest in the Owasso district's history.

If approved by the voters, Owasso Public Schools say they will use the money to help the district keep up with continued growth.

The district says the money will go toward building Morrow Elementary School, additional classroom space at the High School West campus and the construction of three safe gyms designed to protect students during severe weather.

The district also says the money would free up the general operating funds, meaning it could hire new teachers and increase salaries.

The polls are open until 7 p.m.

There are also school bond issues on the ballot in Mayes, Muskogee, Osage and Ottawa counties.
