Tulsa Man Arrested After Allegedly Beating, Strangling Girlfriend

TULSA, Oklahoma -

A Tulsa man is in jail after police say he beat and strangled his girlfriend late Saturday, October 7th after they had been drinking.

He is identified as 43-year-old Richard Makinson.

Makinson was arrested Tuesday afternoon.  

In the police arrest report, the victim said Makinson started hitting her in the head and slammed her head onto a concrete floor.

The victim told police, Makinson gave her a phone to call EMSA, but then took it away before she was make the call.

Richard Makinson was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints including assault and battery and strangulation.
