Broken Arrow says a big resurfacing project is set to begin this week in the downtown area.

The city tells News On 6, this project will lead to the temporary closure of six blocks of streets between now and Thanksgiving.

They say the project could make it difficult to get access to some businesses at times.

The resurfacing project is costing just over $373,000.

Streets to be resurfaced during this project include:

  • Commercial Street - 2 blocks, between Ash Avenue and 1st Street
  • Dallas Street - 1.5 blocks, between Ash Avenue and 1st Street
  • El Paso Street - 1 block, between Main and 1st Street
  • Fort Worth Street - 1 block, between Main and 1st Street

Broken Arrow says the Commercial Street portion of the project is expected to take two weeks to complete, weather permitting.

The say all work is scheduled to be finished around the Thanksgiving holiday.
