Jurors To Decide If Man Should Be Put To Death For Beheading Woman

A Cleveland County jury is hearing testimony Wednesday before they decide if Alton Nolen should be put to death for beheading a co-worker. 

It took jurors less than 45 minutes to decide he is mentally competent for the death penalty.

Immediately after they made that decision Tuesday, they began the punishment phase of the trial. 

Nolen was convicted of killing Colleen Hufford and assaulting several others at Vaughn Foods in 2014.

He faces three possible sentences - life with the possibility of parole, life without the possibility of parole or death.
