Gunfire pierced five panels of glass near an entrance to Freedom Oklahoma on North Classen over the weekend. Executive Director Troy Stevenson said the suspect may have used a pellet gun or other small caliber weapon on the reinforced windows.

“They stand up to Oklahoma tornadoes, so something pretty powerful had to hit it,” he explained.

Police said three other businesses on Classen were vandalized around the same time. Their storefronts were also boarded up Monday.

Another mile further, a shooter took aim at a liquor store and the The Brew Shop next to it.

“It’s kind of scary because I thought if I had been in here or we had customers in here, it would be tragic obviously, if something like that happened,” said owner Gail White.

“It could have been a random person shooting up areas of Classen, but because of the other targeted areas, we’re taking this as seriously as we can,” Stevenson told News 9.

In March, security footage showed a truck drive by the Equality Center in Tulsa and fire shots at the front door.

Vandals also recently hit LGBTQ organizations in Florida and New Jersey.

So, Stevenson said Freedom Oklahoma will take extra security precautions.

“But we’re not going to let them intimidate us and we’re not going to be scared of things like this happening,” he added.

No one was inside that building when the shooting happened.
