Oklahoma City police have identified the victim in the city’s latest murder. Ryan Goss, 26, was found dead in the street near southwest 82nd and Miller Avenue around 6 a.m. on Tuesday.
It was an uneasy scene to wake up to for people in the neighborhood. Cory Teague's home is just across the street from where the Goss’s body was discovered.
“As soon as I opened my door there was seven police officers standing in my yard,” said Teague. “All looked at me and I was just like, oh what happened?”
He was walking out the door to take his daughter to school and will now have to explain to her what happened.
“She’s more curious about it,” said Teague. “We don’t think it really sunk in, so we are probably going to have to talk about it more later.”
Police were called to the neighborhood on a body in the road. Officers on the scene said they found the victim with head trauma. Police are not saying how Goss died or how he ended up in this area. Several neighbors thought they heard something suspicious early in the morning.
‘There was a loud bang around one this morning,” said Teague. “I had stuff going on so I’m not entirely sure what it was.”
Police do not have a suspect but Teague hopes someone is caught soon.
“This was definitely unexpected,” said Teague. “So hopefully it’s a one-time thing.”
