MOORE, Oklahoma -

Several agencies followed suspect Brenton Hager after he was spotted in a stolen truck on Friday. The Moore Police Department released dashcam video after the chase went into the city of Moore twice.

About 20 minutes into the pursuit started in Oklahoma City, Hager crossed the city line and Moore police officers took over. Oklahoma City Police Department requested assistance to stop a black F-250 truck pulling a trailer.

The initial chase through Moore lasted about three minutes. OKCPD’s helicopter was still following the suspect, so Moore terminated their pursuit and pulled back.

Another 20 minutes passed where the suspect was outside of Moore. At one point, SkyNews9 captures video of the trailer snapping off the back of the truck.

Hager drives back into Moore city limits and through the downtown area. Another Moore police officer picks up the chase this second time.

“It’s difficult for the supervisor in charge of that to make that decision because you’re kind of wrong either way,” said Sergeant Jeremy Lewis with the Moore Police Department. “Do you let someone go who is obviously crazy and driving crazy and has committed some serious crimes? Or do you let him go because you don’t want him to end up killing someone?”

The second time Hager entered Moore, the chase lasted a lot longer. He drove off in a field. The police officer chased him through tall grass and bumpy roads. Two of the police unit’s tires blew out. The supervisor decided it was not safe to continue the pursuit and terminated it once it got out of Moore City limits once again.

Lewis said one vehicle was hit in Moore, but that wasn’t during the chase. The victim was not injured.

Hager was eventually arrested after the long chase and booked into the Cleveland County Jail. His next court date is November 28 at 1:00 p.m.
