Some Oklahoma City Public Schools supporters hope local voters will approve a temporary Oklahoma City income tax to pay for bonuses for teachers and support staff at schools within OKC limits.
Here's what you had to say about it, Pamela from Del City first:
"I know teachers and other school staff need a raise but I do not think this is the answer. We already pay property taxes which support the schools, we also have some of the highest sales taxes."
John asks, "Has there ever been a temporary tax?"
From Dottie, "Remember how MAPS was supposed to be temporary? That was, like 17 or 18 years ago, I think. The answer is to cut fat at the top - we have way too many school administrators."
Robert says, "Is this the district that is spending money to change the names of schools? Cut the waste."
Dianne writes, "I know our schools need help, but I can’t do anymore then I am now."
Finally, Jim says, "The idea of the city taking a step to make an improvement in the lives of the OKC teachers is heartwarming and feel good. It won't work and it will never go away."
