A Stillwater woman is accused of leaving her blind and disabled husband to die and rot in their mobile home.

The body of Wade Denton was discovered November 19 by a person who had been asked to check on the property by the landowner.

Payne County Sheriff’s investigators say Denton may have been dead for several months.

Court documents allege Jennifer Denton told investigators who caught up with her on November 28 in Sayre she had left her husband in the care of a family friend.

Investigators say Jennifer had also been spending her late husband’s monthly social security disability checks.

“For his wife to leave him like that," said Tammy Fleming, the person who came across Wade Denton’s body, "you know, that’s sad. And nobody around checked on him.”

Investigators say the remains of two dogs were also found in the mobile home. They say at least one of those dogs fed on Wade’s corpse before they died.
