Ali Brooks

Ali Brooks started working for News 9 as a freelance reporter, which shortly after, turned into her working full time starting in August of 2017. She is currently the Alert Desk Anchor, noon show producer, and reports on the scene on occasion. As a journalist, she has covered everything from the first commercial airline flight into Stillwater, presidential rallies, hurricanes, mass shootings, and local human interest stories.

She is a nationally recognized television anchor; winning the 2017 Best Television News Anchor award from the National Broadcast Society. She received that award in Las Vegas in April 2017. She has also been recognized locally by the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters for her anchoring as well.

Ali graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Multimedia Journalism in December 2016. While receiving her undergraduate degree, she interned for KWTV News 9, and anchored/reported for OStateTV and OSU’s Countdown To Tipoff. She also emceed numerous live events including OSU’s Sea of Orange homecoming parade.

Ali has grown up in Oklahoma most of her life. She was born in Colorado, where her family lived for two short years. On Ali’s fist birthday they moved back “home” to Oklahoma. She considers it a blessing to have called Oklahoma home ever since.

This past June, Ali was named first runner-up to Miss Oklahoma 2017. She was also awarded the overall interview awards. Ali was also recognized as Miss OSU where she was able to serve and represent her University.

Outside of broadcasting, Ali has a passion for serving her community. Her involvement includes working closely with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma to bring awareness to childhood hunger. She has also worked with The Children’s Hospital for over four years and has helped raise money through various fundraising events including their annual Radiothon event.

Ali also has an equal passion for telling people’s stories and believes each story can have a significant impact on the lives of so many; all it takes is a listening ear to help make that story come to life. She has created her own blog called “OK To Be Human” which features fellow Oklahomans and their incredible stories.
