Deer Rescued From Frozen Pittsburg County Pond

A young deer is rescued from a frozen southeast Oklahoma pond.

Nearby residents called the Pittsburg County Water Rescue team about the deer after seeing it stuck on a pond near McAlester.

Pittsburg County Emergency Management posted photos of the rescue on their Facebook page.  They said it took about an hour to get the deer safely off the ice.  

The emergency management director says the rescue team used the opportunity for training.
