Ingredients:

  • 3 pounds plus 9 & 5/8 oz ground beef
  • 3 pounds plus 9 & 5/8 oz ground turkey
  • 2 c breadcrumbs
  • 2 c skim milk
  • 1 & 1/2 c liquid eggs
  • 1 & 1/8 c chopped onions
  • 1 & 1/8 c chopped green pepper, fresh
  • 2/3 t black pepper
  • 2 t salt

Sauce:

  • 2 c ketchup
  • 1 & 1/4 c tomato paste
  • 2 & 1/ t dry mustard
  • 1 & 1/2 t nutmeg

Instructions:

  1. Mix beef, turkey, ketchup, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, onion and pepper
  2. Press into steamable pans
  3. Place pans on sheet pan and top with an inverted sheet pan or aluminum foil
  4. Bake at 35 degrees for 60 to 90 minutes
  5. Ten minutes before end of cooking time, remove top sheet pan or aluminum foil and bake uncovered for last 10 minutes
  6. Internal temperature must register 165 degrees for 15 seconds
