Yukon Church Holds Active Shooter Training
YUKON, Oklahoma - On Sunday, First Baptist Church in Yukon hosted an active shooter training for members of its congregation.
As churches across Oklahoma continue to take steps to protect their members in the event of a violent attack.
The pastor says its something that's become necessary.
"There's a risk there. And that's why you have safety teams to begin with. Because you recognize that there's a potential for a risk," said Jason Russell with Firestorm Solutions.
Twenty-six people were killed in a church shooting in Sutherland Springs, Texas in November of last year.
Experts say one of the most important things you can do, is be aware of your surroundings.
