Police arrested a Tulsa man Monday after they say he robbed and kidnapped someone he met on Facebook earlier this month concerning the sale of a cell phone.
They say 18-year-old DeAngelo McDowell advertised the phone for sale and when he met the victim on March 12th, police stated in their arrest report, McDowell grabbed the victim and held a knife to his back while the victim looked at the phone.
Police say McDowell then took the victim to an ATM and forced him to withdraw $500. The victim told police, McDowell took the money, his cell phone and keys before leaving in a blue Ford Fusion.
The victim flagged down a passerby and called police.
Police said they were able to identify DeAngelo McDowell from police records and social media. Following his arrest, McDowell was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints including kidnapping and robbery with a firearm.
