OHP Reminds Drivers To Slow Down, Be Patient In Construction Zones

Tulsa drivers are sitting in a lot of traffic lately because of major road projects around town.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is encouraging everyone to slow down and pay attention in construction zones.

"If you get involved in an accident in one, a five-minute commute will turn into a two-hour commute. If you'll just be patient, maybe leave just a little bit early, you're going to get through these construction zones as quick as possible," Trooper Dwight Durant said.

Troopers want everyone to remember fines for traffic violations go up in construction zones while workers are present.
