Tulsa Man Kills Wife, Special Needs Daughter, Then Himself, TCSO Says

Posted: Updated:
TULSA COUNTY, Oklahoma -

The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office has identified three people killed in an apparent double-murder suicide.

Deputies identified the bodies as 45-year-old Eric Widger Sr.; his wife, 42-year-old Melisa Widger; and their 20-year-old Nichol ‘Nikki’ Widger. They said the couple's 18-year-old son suffered two gunshot wounds but managed to escape the home, along with his girlfriend who was not injured.

Deputies and Tulsa Police were called to the home in the 6100 block of North Frankfort at about 9 p.m. after getting a 911 call from a shooting victim.

Deputies said Eric Widger Sr. called a family member and admitted to shooting his family. He told the family member he also intended to take his own life. According to TCSO, evidence at the scene and witness statements confirm that's what happened.

"TPD gets there right as we're pulling up, breaches the door, goes inside and finds three member of the family deceased, and then we have an 18-year-old victim who went to the hospital for multiple gunshot wounds," said Casey Roebuck with the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office.

TCSO said there is no history of domestic violence but say Melisa Widger and Nikki recently moved out of the home. Witnesses said Melisa and Nikki stopped by the house on Easter and an argument started.

TCSO said they believe the argument led to the murders.

"She comes to the house with their 20-year-old daughter and tries to have a conversation with him. Things get heated. Mrs. Widger says she wants a divorce. Mr. Widger grabs a gun and opens fire on his own family," Roebuck said.

The son is still in the hospital and is not considered a suspect.
