As teachers got off the bus at Broken Arrow High School after a long day at the state capitol, they said their work is not done.

It was a day that Broken Arrow teacher Samantha Dunne said was both productive and frustrating.

"I had several legislators tell me today that they think it's [a] just one-day rally and it's just going to die down. We had legislators tell us that the funding's not there and we got what we got and it's just not enough," said Dunne.

"We had students from BA show up that we saw that were there, so it was awesome and I'm not going to stop so,” she said.

While some teachers were able to make the trek to OKC, others couldn't.

So, they spent the day lining 71st Street between Memorial and Aspen to make a stand at home.

"It's all about our kiddos and the classroom funding for our kiddos. I think it's important that the community sees that more than just a teacher pay raise. It's about funding for those kids," said one protestor.

Broken Arrow Superintendent Dr. Janet Dunlop even stopping by to visit.

"I'm a teacher. I started in the classroom and in my heart, I'm still a teacher, just right now I'm working as a superintendent, but of course I'm going to be out here with the teachers as well," Dunlop said.

Teachers said they're thankful the superintendent has their back.

"It’s just amazing to have that support," said Broken Arrow teacher Krysta Teel.

As the day came to an end, they said they will wake up to fight another day.

"I'm not done fighting. I never was done fighting," Dunne said.

Right now, we don't know of any specific plans that Broken Arrow teachers have for Tuesday but school is canceled.
