OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma - Governor Mary Fallin says she appreciated teachers voicing their concerns, but stands behind the funding bill she signed into law last week.

Governor Fallin says legislators have done quite a bit this year and "it's important to realize how far we've come.  We didn't get to this point overnight.  Is it as much as they want?  No.  We understand it's not as much as they want, but it is a big step forward."

Lawmakers met in various committees on Monday, but haven't taken any concrete steps on raising the cash demanded by the OEA to end the walkout.
