Teen Hospitalized After Stabbing In Owasso
OWASSO, Oklahoma - A teenage girl is in the hospital in serious condition after Owasso police say someone stabbed her.
Police said the victim isn't from Owasso, that she was visiting someone in a house near Bailey Ranch Golf Course when she was stabbed several times.
Officers say the stabbing was not random.
"Walking my dog around the corner and seeing yellow tape was quite alarming," said Julie, a neighbor.
Neighbors describe the street as 'quiet' but said there is usually activity at the home on East 92nd Street North.
"The house is always full of cars and kids and it's a very social place," Julie said.
Julie has lived in the neighborhood since the late 90s and said she's never witnessed anything out of the ordinary as she passes by the house on walks with her dog.
"It's not heavy traffic but - you can always count on like this - a car coming by, because people notice things, and that's the one thing about this neighborhood is we do notice things, and we keep our eyes out and our ears open for any kind of trouble," Julie said.
Police said several other teenagers were in the home at the time of the stabbing.
"It's heartbreaking, absolutely heartbreaking," Julie said.
It's still unclear right now exactly what led to it.
"I have two teenage girls and it's very sad and my prayers go out to the family and her friends," Julie said.
Police said the adults who own the house were not there at the time of the stabbing.
