Owasso baseball has a history of churning out big-time baseball prospects, and one young man is looking to continue that legacy.

Sandy Koufax once said, “Pitching is the art of instilling fear,” at six feet 200 pounds Owasso’s Nate Wohlgemuth has that taken care of.

"But usually my mindset is I'm good every day and I can blow it past everybody," says Wohlgemuth. "Once I feel my back knee driving and I feel everything, I feel loose and not really stiff, that's when I know I'm about to blow it past some guys."

Though just a sophomore, Wohlgemuth has been clocked as fast as 95 mph and has already been on some of baseballs biggest stages including playing for the 15-and-under U.S. National Team.

Of course, Nate isn't the first Ram with big-league aspirations. In all, Owasso has sent 18 to the pro ranks, five to the big leagues. Including the best of all, a familiar looking righty named Dylan Bundy.

Owasso baseball’s head coach Larry Turner says Nate’s not there yet but could be soon. Wohlgemuth still has some lofty goals for himself including a state title, National Gatorade Player of the Year Award, and another national team appearance.

"Hopefully follow in some footsteps that have gone here," said Wohlgemuth.
