Cool And Dreary Sunday Ahead

Posted: Updated:

The widespread heavy rains are gone, but we’ll still struggle to shake that dreary feeling on this cool and cloudy Sunday.

Areas of drizzle and scattered light showers will continue off-and-on today across Green Country as a slow-moving low pressure system continues to impact the area.  Rain amounts will be much lighter than Saturday, but it’ll still be damp for much of the day.

Much like Saturday, we will struggle to warm up today thanks to nagging cloud cover for much of the day with perhaps a few peeks of sun late in the day.  We’ll spend pretty much the entire day in the 50s, and a gusty northwest wind of 15 to 20 miles per hour will keep quite a chill in the air.

Warmer weather will return to start next week!  Despite some lingering cloud cover and a continued north breeze, we should return to the upper 60s Monday afternoon with a few sunnier locations approaching 70 degrees!  Tuesday looks even better with lighter winds, a sun/cloud mix, and highs climbing into the 70s!

Our next chance of rain arrives by mid-week in the wake of our next cold front, which arrives late Tuesday.  Showers and a few storms will be possible across Green Country on Wednesday, but once again severe weather is not expected!

That first cold front late Tuesday and another front late Thursday will help keep our temperatures fairly mild and fairly close to seasonal normals for several days, with lows around the upper 40s and highs bouncing between the 60s and 70s through the end of the week.  It will likely still take several more days before we can get some big-time spring warmth and 80s to return!
