JENKS, Oklahoma - Jenks police are investigating after a body was found near Jenks High School Sunday around noon.

The male individual's body was found by train tracks near N. Birch St. and W. F Street.

Police say they found gunshot wounds on the body, prompting them to investigate this as a homicide. The wounds did not appear to be self-inflicted. 

Officers have not released the name or age of this person. 

Police say the last homicide in Jenks happened in 2014. 

"Rare. Very rare for us to have a homicide," said Jenks Police Sergeant Melissa Brown. "We believe this is an isolated incident."

Investigators are still trying to piece together what led to the shooting.
