HENRYETTA, Oklahoma -

Nearly two million dollars of methamphetamine won’t reach Green Country streets after Henryetta police make a massive drug bust and arrests for drug trafficking.

It all came about from a traffic stop for speeding on Highway 75 early Tuesday morning.

Police say they confiscated 44 pounds of meth, with an estimated street value that could reach up to about $2 million.

Henryetta police say they pulled over a vehicle for speeding early Tuesday morning heading north on Highway 75.  While speaking to the driver and passenger, police say K-9 Officer Malo alerted them that there were drugs in the vehicle.  A search uncovered 44 pounds of meth hidden in two boxes.

Police say they also found thousands of dollars in cash.

Ana Duenas and Jorge Barron were arrested on drug trafficking complaints.

"I guess after this one, word will get around and they'll go somewhere else," said Henryetta resident Allen Gardner.

Frankie Robertson is manager of Henryetta's Classic Diner located just off Highway 75. She said the town has a few small businesses and a lot of retired people. That's why she was surprised to hear about the large drug bust that happened just down the road.

"This is probably the biggest one that I've heard of since I've been here," she said.

She said as a mother, hearing about the drug bust makes her nervous.

"I'd make myself a nervous wreck if I thought about it constantly," she said. "I just gotta put the trust in that they're gonna be OK, and they'll keep stopping those people," she said.

She hopes police will continue to get drugs off the streets.
