Green Country students got the chance to hear from three Medal of Honor recipients.

Sergeant First Class Bennie Adkins, Staff Sergeant Melvin Morris, and Captain James Livingston spoke to Sapulpa Junior High and High School students Friday.

Each of the men discussed their career and offered advice.

“I want you to protect America.  I want you to protect who we are,” stated Livingston.  “I want you to make sure that we continue to be the beacon of the world and I want you to make sure that everyone has the opportunities you have.”

Since the Medal of Honor was created in 1861, only a little over 3,500 have been awarded to members of the U.S. Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard.
