Tulsa Police Compete In Old West Shoot Off

Posted: Updated:
TULSA, Oklahoma -

Tulsa police traveled to the old west for the Cowboy Action Shooting Competition

12 members of the Tulsa Fraternal Order of Police and 12 members of the Single Action Shooting Society Cowboys squared off to benefit the Tulsa Salvation Army.

The Tulsa Gun Club hosted the event that saw competitors use period-style firearms, dress for the old west, and even have an alias.

“Our guys are not trained to shoot fast and rapid. Ours are more about shooting decisions, distance and accuracy, so you’re going to see a little difference here, how fast a gun can possibly be run," said Tulsa FOP Chairman Jerad Lindsey.

The event was inspired by similar events around the country.
