Stillwater's Karsten Creek To Hold NCAA Golf Championships

STILLWATER, Oklahoma -

The NCAA Golf Championships return to Karsten Creek for the third time in the storied course's history.

Starting exactly two weeks from Thursday, Karsten Creek will experience a first. Not only hosting the Men's NCAA golf championships, but also the women.

It's ladies first in sessions that will run back-to-back for two weeks.  And recent LPGA Championship winner Pernilla Lindberg, who played her college golf at OSU, said she can't wait for the world to see her former home course.

"I just think it's going to be really cool for the rest of the world to see Karsten Creek. I've been trying to tell people for years about this place, but it's just hard to really describe it," Lindberg said.

"I think the more opportunities you get from the fairway, more opportunities you get on the green, the more opportunities you'll get to probably beat people. Just because this golf course is hard and have to be able to hit the ball great, have to be able to chip it, have to be able to putt it, you have to do everything great around here," said OU Men's Golf Coach Ryan Hybl.

"It is a fantastic finish here with challenging holes 15, 16, 17 and then you get a chance to make a birdie at the end. Course set up will determine some of that. It should be a great setup for stroke play and match play," said OSU Men's Golf Coach Alan Bratton.

Karsten Creek should provide one of the toughest NCAA championship tests in recent memory. When asked how to play the course, OSU senior Christopher Ventura said, "Do everything good."
