Oklahoma Women Join To Build With Habitat For Humanity

Posted: Updated:

Oklahoma women are spending their weekend showing off the Oklahoma standard by building a home as a part of the Habitat for Humanity's "Women Build" week.

Nearly thirty women put up the frame of this house near Southwest 44th and Mustang Road in Oklahoma City. Over the course of 12 weeks -- the volunteers who work at metro Lowe's stores will finish the home before a couple and their five children move in.

"When we build a home for a family we are building a community. And this is all about strengthening our community and what a better way than to strengthen the family home," said Gloria Torres the Honorary Chair for Humanity Women’s Build.

Habitat for Humanity is welcoming more volunteers To find how you can get involved you can visit their website here.
