Oklahoma City police are searching for a dangerous carjacking suspect.

He is accused of holding up a 67-year-old woman in the parking lot of Perry’s Restaurant on South May Avenue and of stealing her SUV.

Police are asking the public's help in identifying the suspect and in locating the stolen vehicle.

Employees of the restaurant said the woman is a regular customer and knows the area well.

The woman was caught by surprise as she walked to her car early Wednesday morning. A man wearing a bright green shirt is seen in surveillance video casually walking toward the woman.

“He seems to walk by the car after she does,” said Oklahoma City police officer Megan Morgan. “(He) pretends he’s going to another car and that’s when he confronts her. So definitely a scary situation.”

The victim told police the man had what appeared to be a gun under his shirt and said "give me your keys or I will shoot you."
She is seen in the video walking away, turning back around and handing the suspect the keys to the SUV.

"The victim was not injured in the incident but the car is still outstanding and we need help identifying who the suspect is,” Morgan said.

A camera on a nearby hotel caught a better look of the armed man and the stolen SUV which was described as a 2008 red Nissan Xtera, tag number AFC-895.

Police ask the public to be on the lookout for the stolen SUV and think the suspect is armed and dangerous.

"We definitely don’t want anyone to approach him,” said Morgan. “That’s why I say call 911 if you see him. Let police come and handle the situation.”
