Police Looking For Leads To Solve Metro Double Shooting

A double shooting investigation on the southeast side of the metro has come to a standstill. The drive-by shooting sent two people to the hospital. One victim had a bullet wound to the face.

The shooting happened in the early morning hours of June 19, and investigators do not have any leads. They need someone to come forward to identify the shooter and the car they were driving.

Residents near the shooting said they heard gunshots. Some said they heard as many as five rounds.

The victims were sitting in a red Mustang when they were hit by gunfire.

“When officers arrived, they found a female who had been shot in the face,” said MSgt. Gary Knight, Oklahoma City Police Department.

The man's chest was grazed by a bullet. Whoever fired the gun is still at large.

“Fast forward to today,” said Knight. “And the case is still unsolved.”

The shooting victims were unable to get a good look at the suspect or the car used in the drive-by.

“It’s pretty uncommon on a shooting to have two surviving victims,” said Knight. “To not be able to give you information that would lead you to the identity.”

The lack of information leaves detectives with few clues and neighbors said they were too scared to look out their windows to see anyone.

Police said the female victim is still in the ICU at a metro hospital and the man is recovering.
