Dallas Bound Flight Diverted To Tulsa, Passengers Bussed Home

Posted: Updated:
TULSA, Oklahoma -

Spirit Airlines passengers who's plane was diverted to Tulsa Thursday because of Dallas area storms have now finished their journey to Texas on buses.

The jet from New York to Dallas was one of several airline flights diverted to Tulsa because of severe weather in north Texas.

Tulsa International Airport says the Spirit Airlines crew had met their FAA mandated maximum work hours and the plane couldn't continue onto Dallas.

"So now, Spirit supposedly got us buses that are coming in another hour and a half that will take us back to Dallas. No food, No nothing," said passenger Patrica Rizzo.

The passengers told News On 6 they had to stay in their plane on the tarmac for almost 4 hours before being let off the plane.  Those buses carrying 200 passengers left for Dallas late Thursday evening.

An American Airlines flight from Madrid to DFW and as three Southwest Airline flights headed to Love Field were diverted Thursday to Tulsa International Airport.
