An Oklahoma family discovered a unique commodity they said helped their daughter, donkey milk.

Now they have a farm of their own, offering the drink and other products made with it.

In 2014, Saundra Traywick said her six-year-old child became sick with an autoimmune disease.

“My husband was constantly crying and I was researching and praying,” she explained.

Desperate for a solution, she said they tried so many things. A natural doctor suggested donkey milk and Saundra said it made an almost immediate difference.

“And that was just like, how is this possible? But it worked and you don’t care how crazy it is if it’s working for your child and getting them better,” she said. “And so we drove across to Texas and got three donkeys and started milking donkeys.”

Fast forward a few years and now the family has 14 donkeys on their farm near Luther and a growing business they call, ‘Dulce de Donke.’

They sell jars of the milk to customers who can make an appointment and pick it up from the farm.

And they sell other products they make with the milk, like soaps and skincare online.

They do it all for someone they love and hope to help as many others as possible.
