Tulsa Police and Adult Protective Services are working together to arrest an army veteran.

Richard Dwyer is accused of taking more than $30,000 dollars from an elderly dementia patient who volunteered at Tulsa's Coffee Bunker, a place where Dwyer once received services. A judge has issued a felony warrant for Richard Dwyer's arrest.

"We're asking for the public's help in trying to get him in custody. He does have three municipal warrants and he has one felony warrant of course for the exploitation of this elder," said Detective Matt Rose.

Dwyer befriended Dorothy Green at the Coffee Bunker where she volunteered.

"He'd ask her every once in a while, for five dollars for gas, ten dollars for gas and eventually if she has any yard work," said Det. Rose.

Police say, she invited him over to help around her house and eventually, he moved in. During the course of their friendship, he's accused of taking advantage of her advanced dementia taking more than $30,000.

"We were able to interview Mr. Dwyer he did come in. he participated in the interview process since then his phone's been cut off. We haven't been able to contact him," said Det. Rose.

Coffee Bunker director Scott Blackburn says he hasn't seen Dwyer at the Bunker since June but saw him a few weeks ago at the QuikTrip at Harvard and Admiral.

Dorothy's power of attorney says she's been moved to a memory care unit at her assisted living facility. She is still unaware that this much money was taken from her.
