CREEK COUNTY, Oklahoma - A Creek County man pleads guilty to trying to run over a Mannford Police officer during a chase back in July.

When they arrested 38-year-old Joshua Caudill, he told police he didn't try to run over Officer Matthew Waltman.

Court records show on August 22nd, Caudill pleaded guilty to assault on a police officer with a dangerous weapon.

Investigators say when Officer Waltman tried to stop Caudill for outstanding warrants on July 10th, he sped off leading police on a chase that ended in a field near Mannford.

Waltman's dash camera video shows the moment Caudill's pickup truck nearly hit Officer Waltman.

Caudill got away, but several days later, U.S. Marshals tracked him down and arrested Caudill.

Court records show a judge sentenced Joshua Caudill to 30 years with the first 15 years in prison and the remaining 15 years on probation.

Officer Matthew Waltman, who was not hurt, says he's glad the legal process went quickly.
