A soon to be released movie about Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon, excludes the planting of the American flag on the lunar surface.

Actor Ryan Gosling, who plays Armstrong, says that's because putting the first man on the moon is perceived as a human achievement more than an American achievement.

Several groups are planning to boycott the movie. Here's what you had to say:

Ann in Del City said, "Maybe as a Canadian he was upset that the USA beat Canada's space race efforts. Oh wait…"

Carol in Blanchard said, "how dare they leave the flag out of the movie, I think I will pass on this one."

But Dales writes, "I don’t listen to what anyone else says about any movie if I want to see it I will."

Matthew said, "The moon landing was a great moment for mankind, but it wasn't for mankind. It was for the U.S. and it was an American achievement."

Kristie added, "It was a race with Russia and we won. We are not ashamed of our exceptionalism."

Serena said, "Not sure why all the Yahoos in Hollywood feel the need to re-write our American History…"

Ted from Maine asked,  "You gave great reasons why to boycott the film, so why are you supporting the film by going to see it?"

Because I'm a huge NASA fan and it's probably the only Hollywood biopic on Neil Armstrong there will ever be.

I'm Kelly Ogle and that's YOUR 2 Cents.
