Firefighters across the country are sending their support to a girl right here in Green Country.

Brenly Young is a 6-year-old girl from Hulbert, a town near Tahlequah. Brenly is living with autism and epilepsy, and last week her mom shared a post on Facebook saying Brenly's been having a tough time lately. Brenly's mom came up with an idea to brighten her daughter's day.

Brenly is fascinated with fire trucks and firefighters; she wants to be a firefighter one day. So her mom made a simple request on Facebook -- for fire departments to send in T-shirts so Brenly could wear a firefighter T-shirt every day.

In less than a week, Brenly has received T-shirts, patches, and hats from fire departments all over the United States: Alaska, California, Washington, Massachusetts, Texas, Indiana - just to name a few.

And of course, dozens of Oklahoma departments have answered the call. A few - like Norwood and Wagoner - have even invited Brenly out for a tour of their station where she met firefighters, got to sit in the driver seat of a fire truck and even spray the hose.

Her mom says they are so grateful for the love and support; they never expected such a huge response.
