Local travel agents are hearing from clients worried they won't be able to fly without their Real ID.

The deadline to have your government issued Real ID to board a plane, enter a military base or federal building is October 10.

Last month, Oklahoma filed for a Real ID year-long extension, saying its met 30 of the 43 total requirements to begin implementation.

But the governor’s office said Thursday, it is not sure when or if that extension will be granted.

Meanwhile, travelers are getting worried about flying after October 10th.

“I can’t confidently tell my clients, ‘Oh you’ll be fine. They’ll let you on the plane.’ I can’t do that because I don’t know if they will,” says Joyce Butler with Around the World Shawnee Travel.

Butler says she gets at least two calls a day from travelers looking for Real ID answers.

The governor’s office told News 9, it doesn't think Oklahoma will have the proper computer software needed for Real ID implementation until 2020.

On Friday, the governor's office told News 9 it expects to hear any day that the state’s Real ID extension request will be approved.
