Tulsa Murder Victim Honored With Habitat House Raising

A home will be built in memory of a Tulsa crime victim who volunteered with Habitat for Humanity for nine years. Jim Rosenlieb was killed during a home invasion this summer.

Rick Davison, a man who worked at the Rosenlieb house as a tree trimmer, has been arrested in Rosenlieb's death.

Fellow volunteers decided not long after his death that they would find a way to commemorate the Tulsa man's dedication to helping others by building a house in his honor.

People have donated more than $100,000 to a memorial fund to honor Rosenlieb's work to make affordable housing a reality for people like the Mang family, refugees who fled religious persecution in Myanmar, a news release states.

As a result, a wall raising ceremony will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, September 22 at 112 North Zunis as construction gets underway.

Rosenlieb was 80 years old at the time of his death and was survived by his wife of 57 years, two sons, three granddaughters and a great-grandson.

The memorial fund is about $12,000 short of full funding for the home, which will be purchased by the Mangs. Follow this link to support the effort.
